According to industry sources This Is It is being tipped to be nominated for Best Picture.

But don’t expect to see it at the 2010 Oscars. The cut-off date for 2010 nominations was August 31, 2009. So it will have to wait until 2011 to be included in the nominations. It is almost guaranteed a nomination, after breaking all records for a concert documentary (grossing $101 million in the first weekend worldwide), although with recent offerings being Hannah Montana or the Jonas brothers it is understandable.

Also, Kenny Ortega, director for the movie, is expected to receive a nomination for Best Director; for This Is It.

August 19 he tweeted “EVOL UOY NAM NI EHT RORRIM EKAM TAHT EGNAHC (:” which when reversed reads “Love you man in the mirror make that change ”

July 15 he tweeted “I hear your laughter and feel your joy. I love you more!”

July 10 he tweeted “Thanks everyone for your out pouring of love and support. Together, we’ll heal the pain by striving to HEAL THE WORLD. Michael WILL BE THERE”

May be nothing, but Kenny is being inundated from Michael’s fans with regards to what his tweets really mean.
